Taichung Metro’s first route began operation on April 2021. The local government posted an open call for public art to decorate the public space of Metro stations. To pitch the government project, our company invited artists to design artwork for public space. Moreover, the demand for animation to convey the conceptual relation between public artwork and Taichung Metro is also required and led by director Huang Chung Yu. His goal was to emphasize the artwork models in the animation and planned to achieve it through natural lighting and train-moving animation in the 3d world.

I received Taichung Metro, public art, structural space, and train and rail set models with basic textures. To let the models perform the textures properly, I remeshed/modeled some of them and trimmed objects to make the visual simple and clean. The lighting is quite challenging; I tried different lighting methods to balance the exposure and shadow to reach the subtle light rays.
